Until now, most updates were shared on Discord. That worked well for active community members, but many users don’t check Discord regularly. From now on, this blog will serve as a permanent place for development progress, announcements, and technical insights - so everyone can stay up to date.
Why Version 0.6 Is a Major Milestone
PteroCA has historically been a single, monolithic application. Customizations often required editing the core, which made updates risky and difficult to maintain.
Version 0.6 changes that.
This release introduces the Plugin System, transforming PteroCA into an extensible platform. It provides the foundation for:
- Custom logic and server automation workflows
- Hosting provider-specific features
- Third-party and community plugins
- Theme/template support in future versions
- The upcoming PteroCA Marketplace
This is the biggest architectural shift since the project began.
The Plugin System
Plugins in 0.6 support full lifecycle control:
- Install, enable, disable, update, and uninstall
- Metadata declaration with semantic versioning
- Dependency handling with conflict detection
- Runtime logic injection without modifying the core
Plugins can add:
- UI elements, navigation items, and dashboard widgets
- Backend logic attached to application events
- Database migrations and new entities
- Console commands and scheduled cron tasks
From now on, PteroCA can be shaped to match each provider’s workflows instead of forcing a single panel structure.
Security and Reliability
Since plugin code is user-controlled, the platform includes built-in safeguards:
- A security validator that detects unsafe file access and SQL injection patterns
- A health check system that monitors plugin behavior and logs issues
- Audit logging for plugin operations
- Dependency resolution to prevent conflicting versions
Plugins are powerful, but the core remains protected.
Event-Driven Architecture
Version 0.6 introduces a much more flexible internal event system.
More than 40 new event points were added across:
More than 40 new event points were added across:
- Form processing
- CRUD operations
- Email flows
- UI rendering
- Server provisioning and lifecycle actions
Plugins can now react to or modify nearly any part of the application without modifying core code. This is what enables deep customization.
Widget and Navbar Extension System
Plugins can now inject UI elements into the dashboard and navigation bar.
These UI extensions can be ordered, replaced, or conditionally shown.
This also lays the groundwork for full theming in future versions.

Rewritten Pterodactyl API Layer
The communication layer with Pterodactyl has been completely reimplemented:
- More consistent request structure
- Improved error handling
- Easier integration for plugins
- Better maintainability and testability
This directly improves stability when provisioning and managing servers.
Frontend Redesign
The entire frontend structure has been refreshed.
This includes:
This includes:
- Clear layout regions where plugins can inject elements
- Better component organization
- A more maintainable design foundation
- Preparation for theme/template support in later releases
Marketplace Work in Progress
Work has also begun on the PteroCA Marketplace - a platform where developers will be able to publish, share, and (optionally) sell plugins and templates.
This marketplace will be integrated directly into PteroCA in a release after 0.6.
The immediate focus is stabilizing the plugin API first, so plugin authors can begin building.

Public develop Branch Available
You can test the plugin system now:
git clone -b develop https://github.com/pteroca-com/panel.git
This branch is intended for developers and early testers.
It is not production-ready. Expect ongoing changes.

If you want to start building plugins early - this is where to begin.
Current Progress Status
- Plugin system core lifecycle: completed
- Plugin configuration UI: completed
- Plugin security and dependency checks: completed
- Event-driven extension architecture: completed
- Widget and navbar UI injection: completed
- Rewritten Pterodactyl API layer: completed
- Frontend redesign: completed
- Developer documentation and example plugins: in progress
- End-to-end stability testing: pending
Roadmap to Stable Release
- Finalize documentation and example plugin package
- Community testing via the develop branch
- Quality assurance and performance validation
- Public release of 0.6 once stable
Release Timing
The current goal is to release 0.6 around late November to early December.
However, this is an estimate, not a fixed promise - because this release introduces a foundation that the ecosystem will depend on for years.

If the choice is between:
- releasing earlier, but with a plugin API that may need breaking changes later, or
- taking a little more time to ensure the API is stable long-term,
then stability always wins.
Quality > rushing a release.
Preview of the Upcoming UI
Preview of the Upcoming UI
Below (in gallery) are a few preview screenshots from the upcoming 0.6 interface.
They showcase the updated layout structure, the new navigation and dashboard design, and several plugin injection points in use. These UI changes were made to support plugin-based customization, improve consistency, and prepare the panel for future theme and marketplace integration.

Thank you for supporting PteroCA and helping shape its direction.
The project is now evolving into something much bigger than a panel - it’s becoming an ecosystem.
More updates soon.
