PteroCA Devlog #2 - December 2025 Update & What’s Coming Next
03 Dec 2025 1918

Discover PteroCA v0.6 roadmap - API rewrite, plugins, permissions, UI overhaul & upcoming Marketplace. Launch mid-Dec 2025.

Hello PteroCA community! 👋
We know it’s been a while since the last “deep” update on the blog — most updates so far landed on Discord. But this blog is meant to be the permanent place for development updates, announcements and behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on. So — here’s a comprehensive status update: what we’re building, what’s coming soon, and what you should expect before the end of the year.

🔧 What’s new / in progress

✅ Full rewrite of the Pterodactyl-API SDK

We completely rewrote the layer that integrates with Pterodactyl. The old SDK is gone — in its place is our own custom implementation. What this means for you:

  • more consistent request structure,
  • improved error handling,
  • easier integration for plugins or extensions,
  • better maintainability and fewer surprises in server provisioning or management flows.

This rewrite builds a stronger foundation — especially important now that we’re opening the system to external plugins and community contributions.

⚙️ More settings & user permissions system

We’re expanding configuration options: soon, panel admins will have finer control over each action. Every operation in the panel will be covered by a permission — which means:

  • You can control which users/roles can do what (create servers, manage users, run console commands etc.),
  • Better security & flexibility — appropriate for teams / hosting providers using PteroCA at scale,
  • More granular control over plugin-provided features.

This moves us closer to production-ready maturity, giving confidence to users who run PteroCA in real environments.

🧩 Plugin support — the core 0.6 promise

As announced in the first post, v0.6 brings the plugin system. But now, thanks to the API rewrite and permission system, plugin support will be more robust. Plugins will be able to:

  • hook into Pterodactyl API via new SDK,
  • respect permission system (so actions triggered by plugins will follow permission rules),
  • work smoothly with new settings and configuration options.

This makes PteroCA much more flexible and extensible — enabling custom logic, automation, integrations, and community-driven features.

🌐 New languages & UI improvements — including Indonesian support

  • We’re widening our reach: among the upcoming changes is support for the Indonesian language (in addition to default languages). This is part of our plan to make PteroCA more global, inclusive, and usable for hosting providers or communities outside the usual locales.

🖌️ UI / Template overhaul & command renaming (with backward compatibility)

  • We’re refreshing the panel’s look and feel: a new, improved template will ship with 0.6.
  • On top of that — we’re renaming some commands for clarity / consistency. Don’t worry though: the old commands will continue to work for some time, so there’s time to adapt.

That means: cleaner UI, easier navigation, more maintainable structure — but no sudden breakage for existing users.

🐛 Many smaller improvements and bug-fixes

  • Beyond the big changes, there’s a slew of smaller tweaks, refinements and polishing under the hood.
  • Performance tweaks; UI fixes; configuration edge-cases addressed; general code cleanup. Every little thing helps — especially in combination.

📦 Marketplace & Plugin Ecosystem — still coming soon

Let’s talk about the marketplace — we know many of you are eager. Here’s the current status:

  • The marketplace domain (https://marketplace.pteroca.com) is published, but it’s currently in “under maintenance / coming soon” mode. It’s a soft-launch — visible domain, but not yet ready for public listings.
  • That’s intentional: we want to ship 0.6 first — then take some time to finalize plugin-registration flows, payment integration, docs, UX polish etc., before enabling public marketplace.
  • Once opened, we plan to allow any plugin author to register and publish their plugins/templates.
  • Payment processing will go through Stripe (via Stripe Connect). Commission for the project will be 10% of sale price — standard among plugin marketplaces.
  • On launch, expect a minimal set of official / example plugins — including a “hello-world” tutorial plugin — plus full documentation (plugin API, versioning, compatibility, how to build your own, how to publish, etc.).

So, yes — marketplace is coming. But we prefer it well-prepared rather than rushed.

🎯 Why this is a huge step forward — PteroCA is becoming a real platform

If the first post framed version 0.6 as the “biggest architectural shift ever” (monolith → plugin-capable modular system), this update builds on that foundation:

  • With the new API layer + permissions + plugin support + UI rewrite — PteroCA becomes much more stable, flexible and ready for real-world usage (production hosting, multi-user setups, community plugins).
  • The plugin + marketplace ecosystem unlocks community-driven growth: custom integrations, third-party plugins, templates, hosting-provider–specific extensions, etc.
  • Multi-language and UI improvements open the door to a larger, global user base.

In short: PteroCA is now not just a “panel” — it’s a platform + ecosystem.

📅 What’s next (Roadmap & Timeline)

We’re aiming to wrap up final testing and QA for version 0.6 within the next one to two weeks — including full regression checks for plugin system, API integration, permissions, UI, and general stability improvements.

Mid-December 2025 is our target for the public release of PteroCA v0.6. If everything goes smoothly, we’ll push it out shortly before the holidays.

Immediately after the 0.6 release, we plan to finalize the plugin framework documentation, polish example plugins, and begin internal testing of marketplace flows, payment integration, and user onboarding processes.

In early 2026 — once 0.6 proves stable — we’ll launch the full PteroCA Marketplace, opening it up for external plugin authors and public listings. That will let creators publish their plugins/templates, and users browse or purchase them.

After marketplace launch, we’ll shift focus toward encouraging community contributions: plugin submissions, feedback collection, bug reports, usage analytics, and continuous iteration to improve stability, usability and expand the ecosystem.

👥 How you can help — join us on this journey

Even now, before 0.6 and marketplace are public, there are ways you can help shape PteroCA:

  • Have ideas for plugins, integrations or features? Share them.
  • If you’re a developer — try building a plugin using the develop branch + new SDK + soon documentation, and report feedback.
  • Discuss with your peers or community — maybe you know someone who needs a specific plugin / feature.
  • Once marketplace is live — consider publishing your plugin or template, contribute to the ecosystem.

Your feedback — early, honest, detailed — will help us make PteroCA better, more stable, more aligned with real needs.

📝 TL;DR

  • We rewrote core integration with Pterodactyl, improved settings & permissions, added plugin support, UI/template overhaul, added Indonesian language support, many bugfixes & improvements.
  • Marketplace domain is live — but site is under maintenance; actual marketplace launch will come after 0.6.
  • Once open — anyone will be able to publish plugins, with payments via Stripe Connect; 10% commission to project.
  • 0.6 release expected mid-December 2025, followed by plugin/docs roll-out, then marketplace early 2026.
  • PteroCA evolves from a panel to a full-fledged platform + ecosystem — now it’s your time to jump in, test, contribute, shape the future.
